Each ICP account comes with two addresses: a Principal ID and an Account ID.
The Account ID is mainly used for transfers to and from exchanges. It typically supports ICP only, not other tokens built on the Internet Computer.
The Principal ID is used within the IC ecosystem. You’ll use it when sending tokens to other Plug users, other wallets, dApps, or the NNS.
Quick tip: Principal IDs include characters like “aaa-...”, while Account IDs are long strings without any separators.
